Description:

• 304 Hard Stainless Steel Coils is a good oxidation resistance in intermittent service to 870O°C and in continuous service to 920O°C.
• Continuous use of Alloy 304 in the 425-860°C range is not recommended if subsequent aqueous corrosion resistance is important.
• Alloy 304H has higher strength at elevated temperatures so is often used for structural and pressure-containing applications at temperatures above about 500°C and up to about 800°C.
• Alloy 304H will become sensitized in the temperature range of 425-860°C, this is not a problem for high-temperature applications but will result in reduced aqueous corrosion.

316 Stainless Steel Sheets is molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. The higher nickel and molybdenum content in this grade allows it to demonstrate better overall corrosion resistant properties than 304, especially with regard to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. In addition, Stainless Steel Sheets 316 provides excellent elevated temperature tensile, creep and stress-rupture strengths, as well as outstanding formability and weldability. 316L is the lower carbon version of 316 and is immune from sensitisation therefore, it is very frequently used in heavy gauge welded components.

• As large a tool as possible and great amounts of cutting fluid should be used.
• Heavy positive feeds at low speeds should be considered since Stainless Steel Sheets 316 work hardens rapidly.
